Jim Farmer of Privateer CX has posted a great video with footage of Old Grey Barn CX.
Old Grey Barn CX in Rocky Face kicked off the 2019 Bike Law Georgia Cyclocross Series p/b Perimeter Roofing. Racers love the technical challenge of this course, including the revamped fly over. Mother Nature has put CX weather in the corner for now. Temperatures were over 91 degrees with a heat index of 106+. Racers took advantage of the cooling station, cold towels, and frosty beverages after their efforts. Racing was hot as well with both newcomers and veterans taking podium spots!
In the Women’s 1/2/3, Molly Russell-Holmes (Loose Nuts) took the win over Cambrie Epperson (Peachtree Bikes). Molly established and early gap. Cambrie tried to close and even gained time on one of the laps, but she could not catch Molly. Ali LeCraw (Peachtree Bikes) was third.
In the Men’s 1/2 race, the peloton stayed together for the first few laps. Eventually Jacob Morales (JM Racing p/b Scott) pulled away. He would put a bit of time into Nick Van Winkle (BMW-Specialized) and Spencer Whitter (Privateer CX). Artur Sagat and Andy Sarcano chased but wound up just off the podium.
The Bike Law Georgia Cyclocross Series p/b Perimeter Roofing heads to the iconic Grant Park in Atlanta this coming weekend.
