Due to the cancellation of Grant Park and the addition of Ellenwood CX, the Parks-Law.com Georgia Cyclocross Series p/b Terrapin has decided to add a drop race to the series for 2017. The individual final series standings will be the best 10 out of 11 races, the lowest points race will count as the drop race. Drop races will not be factored into the individual series standings until the series finale. There will be no drop points for the team competition.
Due to forecasted thunderstorms and lightning Grant Park CX Cup is CANCELED this Sunday. We will be adding Ellenwood CX Ranch to the GACX schedule for Saturday November 4th. All pre-registered riders entries will be transferred. If you pre-registered and will be unable to attend please contact Clay Parks.
The 2017 season is just a few weeks away! We’ve got an exciting announcement for you. Thanks to Parks-Law.com we are bringing back the series leaders jersey’s! Check out a sneak peak below.
We are thrilled to have Parks-Law.com on board as our title sponsor this year as well as having Terrapin back as our presenting sponsor. Be sure to check them out for all of your attorney and drinking needs, preferably not at the same time. Also a big thanks to Starlight Apparel for helping to make these snazzy jersey’s.
Leaders Jersey’s Lowdown:
Leaders Jersey’s will be presented to the top GACX points holders in the following categories:

Listen up, CXers! Want a cool GACX tshirt? Stand Up & Hammer is producing a limited run for this year! It’s pre-order only, so get to it! The deadline is Sept. 22!
Here ye, here ye!
The 2017 schedule has now been posted, so I guess we can officially say #crossiscoming!
Keep an eye out on the website as we will be making some more changes to the series rules this year. But for now you can see that the new race day schedule will start at 9:20 AM giving the Juniors their own time slot! Hopefully this will clear some of the congestion on the course during that first race time slot and allow juniors to double up on their races. We have also added Cat 4 to the 40+ and 50+ Masters categories. We know sometimes those masters categories can be a little slim so hopefully this will fill them out! Cat 4 masters will still be allowed to race in the CX4/5 Masters 35+ category as well, so more opportunity to double up again.
We’ll keep you posted as we get the rest of the 2017 changes rolled out. If you have any questions or comments please email “firstname.lastname@example.org” (sorry our “email@example.com” has been a little wonky lately).
Now that the 2016 GACX Season has come to a close please take a moment to fill out this survey! We are constantly trying to improve the series to provide you the racer with an even better experience year after year!
A few reminders as we head into the 2016 CX season:
- New for 2016: There will be a $10 late fee for day of registration. So make sure to pre-register to avoid this!
- As always racers will keep the same bib number for the entire season. There is a $5 replacement charge.
- Make sure your USAC license is current and bring it to the races. Yes, I know they went paperless…so either print off your registration to ride or download the app!
- Racing age is based off of your age on December 31, 2017.
- Savannah’s Saturday race will be double points for the series!!!
Be sure to check the “rules” and “beginner info” pages if you have any other questions.
This just in:
Saturday’s race at the Savannah Superprestige Cylcocross Weekend will be offering DOUBLE POINTS!!! This is an awesome opportunity to come down to the only race in Georgia with a flyover and snag some extra points against your nemesis! Don’t forget they always offer beer, camping, showers, and did I mention beer?!?!?
We are diligently working to get the 2016 Schedule sorted out. If you are interested in promoting a race please send an email to Jim Behning (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday 5/20. He will be sending out an email with additional information to all interested promoters. If you know anyone interested in promoting make sure to remind them to send an email to Jim as well.
